    the game is slow but the rest is cool multiplication is a bit faster

    The computer has variables for the upper and lower bounds of possible numbers. It takes the number in the middle by adding half the difference to the lower bound. When you tell it if the guess is too high or too low it will change the lower and upper bounds accordingly. Real high level code can be seen in the forum post.
