    Fail. CO2 is 40% flammable. There's no sense making it stop the fire.

    I was about to say what tothemyers just posted - it's a heat detector, not a smoke detector.

    It's more like a heat detector - it only detects the heat from the smoke, not the smoke itself.

    Hm, it's quite a good flamethrower if you use hydrogen instead of CO2.

    It does not detect only smoke. It is also sensitive to gas.
