H2 fires are nearly invisible(UV light, some blue). tons of H2 vs. a few hundred pounds of fabric. which burns more?

light emitted in H2 burning is in the UV, with SOME blue light emmited. main fire was hydrogen. and think- many tons of flammable gas vs. a lightweight fabric. which burns more?

It ha been proved that the Hydrogen in the Hindenburg would only make a flameless explision. The coating on the Hindenburg was the main source of fire.

@xavvi- This has been disxussed. The coating was similar, but there wasn't enough of an oxidizer for it to work like thermite. The cause of the fire was the hydrogen.

good but the real hindenburg had a coating simmilar to thermite, for it was iron oxide and aluminium powder and magnesium (the ingredients in thermite)
