Why Do People Hate?

I'm starting to feel that immature people are ruining the game. Of course, we have people who steal. And we also have people who troll. But why do people continuously vote down on other peoples saves for no reason? I have seen some very cool ideas implemented into Powder Toy via saves, and all they recieve is trashy downvotes from others. I think there should be a new system implemented to make users explain why the would vote down on a save. That way it could be coded so that if the computer detected a bad word being used in the description, a Mod would be notified of when it happened and what was said. I think that would cut down on the down votes that are there for no reason. I actually believe now that some kids down vote just for the fun of it, or because they think its "Cool". I also think that there should be a system in place so that when a person says something innapropriate on a tag, it is automatically reported to a Mod. I recently found the words "yourmom" and "poopie" on my tags listing. Disgusting and quite stupid to say the least. Then i get a slew of down votes on something that took me d**n near two weeks to make. I understand some people might not like it but when the save goes frontpage and gets 50/50 on good Vs. bad votes, thats just annoying. why would someone vote down on something that took me two frickin weeks?? Is there possibly some competition to get stuff frontpage? Is that why?

Why do people love? for love is to not hate and hate is to be not loved, so why not love with out the hate?
for love without hate is like 2 flowers on either side of the hill, where there be no love but there be no hate standing still with nothing bright. so hate will be if you would want love to be.

You're post is off topic, and therefore spam.
But even given my point of view, I do completely agree with you. Many of the users are banned, so the down votes and other negative feedback doesn't go unpunished.
This is evident when you consider that 1.66% (805) of users are banned, and most of those aren't forum users.
Other than that, we normal users are powerless against the antagonist.
We can't ask anymore of the moderators, as they spend hours monitoring new saves to make sure there is not rule breaking ocurring.
Part of the issue is the age of many people using TPT and not the forum (I think I may be getting a reputation for complaining about the immature behaviour of young children, no matter their intelligence). Younger people don't consider the impact of their actions, and so act without thought. Sometimes, it may take people until their late 20s to become mature enough to function in a community. -
I think there shouldn't be downvotes, what good do they do anyway? Downvotes imply hate and agression towards the save. And I know there are some circumstances where downvoting is apropriate, like discriminating... but, I can't see the point, even the front page doesn't take downvotes into acount. They are just food for trolls and only upset the user at the other end. If a save is good, it gets upvotes. If a save is bad, it should get no upvotes.

Agree 100%,would also encourage users to state why they don't like a save instead of being scared of having their own creations down voted because of their opinion. -
