    I think I saw simon say something like.
    "It prevents people from joining every group possible and contributing nothing"

    Join groups that you actually will participate in. (although 2 seems a bit low)

    The limit is 4.
    Any pending registrations count too, so if you're in 2 groups and have 2 more pending approval, you'll be unable to join more.
