Yes, there can - quite easily - be background music.
Youtube can provide you with virtually anything you desire to have as your background music.
Spotify can further enhance your musical experience, and take it outside your computer if payed.

I prefer hearing my own voice sing to others. But I cant do it around other people, because they all start running away, with their hands to their ears... :(

well that is just a no if you want it actually IN THE GAME, it would approximately 99.99% easier to just download Itunes, use Windows Media Player or just buy an ipod or phone something and just play it while you build stuff.
