No simulation program I can find allows you to simulate more than one ruleset of GOL on the same field of particles. It made me froth at the mouth just thinking about it when I realized.

    This.

I dont see why they reject stuff like microwaves, radiation and other things for being slightly useless when they have the life section which is pretty much the same thing in slightly different colours and shapes.

Because Conway's Game of Life and misc. other rulesets within that field of cellular automata are actually older than most of the users who frequent this forum, including the people who work on the game. The stuff is ancient, it's like 40+ years old.

There are a lot of experts out there who spend their lives studying over these patterns and know pretty well how they work. Wait for a while and you'll start seeing GOL used as quite a bit more than just heaters and coolers.

Cracker64 just made an enormous pile of hybrid rule gliders that move vertically without any kind of rails, that due to moving vertically and horizontally, and looping around the screen could be used in conjunction with conductive walls to time electronics. Hybrid rule gliders, to my knowledge, have never been created before. It helps that TPT to date is probably the only simulation program in existence that allows more than one ruleset to exist in the same field of play at once, which similarily has never been done before.

...We have WIFI and Photons already. Other wavelengths could be added to photons to include invisible radiation, but the person who wrote photon code is really the only person who could mess with it right now, and he has a busy life.
