    hence the word properly.
but yes people should be more educated about the rights of creative works and the rights of the creators.

it's not exactly like we're doing this for profit, so there's really no reason to complain about it.

no, it doesn't. Not in the least. You still made it, so what does it matter if someone else copies it, unless you're so much of an attention whore that your life is meaningless without votes?

Excuse me? If i was an attention whore I'd be on youtube making making videos of how the world sucks and how I am the best. I do not do such a ridiculous thing. Grow up.

Besides it's my job as a moderator to stop having peoples work stolen. So if it stopped it would be a lot easier!

I agree the CC licenses and such are helpful but doesn't guarantee anything, people don't respect these rights and its only up to the originator to put his foot down and enforce and complain about it himself

speaking of licenses, Simon should implement the licenses or something like them to help prevent people from stealing/editing.

like you can save your work, allow people to download it, but not save anything they do to it. or people can download, and not edit a single thing, or people can just view it and not save it.

It is a matter of credit to the creator to show respect for their hard work. Wanting credit =/= attention whoring.

Come on, licenses do not prevent anything.
And this is non-profit stuff. From a purely realistic point of view: No one cares (in the sense of: Going to court etc.).

A better view for you would be: Your creation is so good, that people actually take time to play around with it and embrace it for further development. Maybe only one pixel, who knows why. Or they like it so much, they want to make it theirs as well.
    Laugh about them and done.

like you can save your work, allow people to download it, but not save anything they do to it. or people can download, and not edit a single thing, or people can just view it and not save it.

I do not think we need DRM here. Open your mind and if people do good stuff to your creation, take their mod and take it again a step further.

We had this discussion already, Simon said he would not implement DRM.
Personally, I think we should let them copy, and get a moderator if it's directly stolen.
