Probably because the biggest spammers got banned a few days ago, making the forums posting activity reflect the number of users actually here to say something useful -
The reason a lot of users are being banned recently is because the spam thread (Better known as the "Random Comments" thread) has recently been locked and people have been protesting and spamming everywhere else on the forum, in order to get the message across that spam is not and will not be tolerated here.
I would say about 90% of bans being issued at the moment expire within 2 days. -

Okay the recent bans were basically what other sites do. For spamming and other non-sense. We have almost the same rules an punishment. No tolerance. You all just think it's getting tough because we've introduced rules slowly, not all at once as some do. Get used to no tolerance because we're teaching you something here.
