On the ctrl+load to do local load, if you have more than 12 saves you have to use the search function (unless it just happens to be on page 1), but if you don't know the name of the one you are looking for, then what? I think there needs to be left and right arrows to select the page you want.
Also the hot air must rise to be realistic, so when using air with temperature mode, you should have air that's hotter than the surrounding air rise, and cooler air sink. If you have 100deg air it should rise with respect to the other air, unless you've already heated it to 200deg, then the 100deg air should sink. It should compare the air-temp of any given segment of air to that of the surrounding segments, to determine if the local air current should be up or down (and if so, how fast up or down), or stationary. (This would allow for realistic convection currents to be set up in the air)
Also the "heat" and "cool" tools should work on the air when air-temp mode is turned on. Also one should be able to get a spot temperature reading of the air using the mouse cursor on the air (just like it already does with particle objects) when air-temp mode is turned on.
Oh, and really mercury should be able to turn into mercury vapor when heated enough, and that vapor should be conductive, and turn into plasma when passing electricity through it but not a hot enoujgh plasma to melt either metal or glass (just enough to make it red to orange hot, like maybe 500 to 900deg), and you could have a decent mercury vapor lamp.
I'm also requesting the temperature of the NBLE gas plasma be turned down a bit as neon lights tend NOT to melt in real life, but they sure do in PowderToy (I've melted many neon tubes I've made in TPT, (and finally I realized that the NBLE plasma temperature is just way too hot). Judging by the temperature that real neon sign tubes tend to run at, I'd say the temperature should be about 110degF (or about 45deg, as degC is used in powder toy).
WIth the NBLE and the mercury vapor based plasmas, you may also wish to make them emit photons (at room temperature, not hot photons as you get when using the PHOT element) while ionized, in order to simulate the light you'd get from a discharge lamp of that type. As a result, mercury vapor plasma photons should also be cyan in color and a prism will split them into blue purple, green and yellow photons (the actual spectrum of a mercury arc), and neon plasma will emit redish orange photons, and be split into red, orange, yellow, and green photons (the actual spectrum of neon arc). Along this line you'll need a QZGL or HDGL (quartz glass or hard glass) element that passes photons without splitting the photons into colors, and also will withstand much more pressure than normal glass, as any HID (high intensity discharge) arc tube is made out of, and for the same reason (hot gas in a container has high pressure). Of the arc lamps I've made that haven't melted, they've all shattered under pressure, so this special glass should withstand at least 2 or 3 times the pressure of normal glass (though it should still be breakable given enough pressure, so one could simulate an arc tube explosion if too much gas/plasma is used).
Yes PLSM element as placed from the tool box should stay the same ultra high temp though. Also a separate HNBL (hot plasma noble gas should be made separately for cutting torches, and other electrically triggered hot plasma devices) should be added to the elements list.
@Videogamer555(View Post) Unfortunately, many devices already use hot air, your suggested modification would severely reduce the lethality and/or efficiency of such devices. That change for mercury will also break saves. The noble gas would also break saves.
@code1949(View Post) Is it possible for there to be 2 official releases, 50.0a and 50.0b one using my suggestions (as these are designed to make it more like the real world, allowing anyone to construct real world devices such as mercury arc lamps), and a separate release that will be designed to not break existing saves from the "mainstream" TPT? The release that is designed to be more realistic should be consulted BY ME before release (so there won't have to be any changes that have to be made post-release that would kill saves) as I have taken a few physics classes, and have read some physics books on my own, and I'll likely be able to tell you before release that, "yes this is good, release it" or "no this is not realistic, you need to fix its physics here, here, and here, before posting it on the net", using me as a physics consultant on the separate "realistic physics" version of the releases.
Also you could (for any thing that needs changing) such as NBLE plasma being made cooler, and a separate HNBL (hot plasma noble gas) made to replace the current NBLE, yes it would break saves but there is a simple solution. Since HNBL would repleace the current form of NBLE, all you'd need to do to fix it would be to load your save, go to the console and type "!set type NBLE HNBL" and press enter, to change the element NBLE to its replacement HNBL, then resave/republish your project.
Alternatively an element NEON could be made that would fit my need for a cooler burning noble gas.
And a vaporizable mercury called VMCR could be added to fit my need for making a mercury arc lamp.
One problem. I had to delete two of my creations. One of them was one of my best I've ever made! They were Stickman games. It was designed so when there are walls above the man and when it jumps it acts as stairs and it goes up another level on the game. But the new update has made it so stickmen cant do that. Yes it fixes some glitches where stickmen fly of the map suddenly but Im sure there are many other people that has had this problem ruining their saves. Well, it's too late for me. Just a tip for powder toy, if your going to update something that ruins many saves of peoples', dont change it, if you wanna change something, too bad, users adapted to that and now you change everything suddenly.
@Developers Can you guys please code the game so that BRAY can exist in a zero-life state again? Several of my saves were broken because the BRAY was replaced by DMND, zero-life BRAY still has uses as it can be destroyed by PSCN-charged BRAY.
a bug of stkmn (its bug or not i dont know but) 1st make some dust and go to console then type (!set type all stkmn) without brakets then hover mouse on dust you will find that the cursor changes to 2dx or something and reply only if you knw how to use console you can search for amazing glicth 2dtext ( i have created it for a sample )
@Videogamer555(View Post) On ctrl+load, use the scroll wheel. Although perhaps there should be an alternative method for people who don't have a scroll wheel.
Simon is experimenting with making hot air rise.
@code1949(View Post) Normal and high life BRAY can also be destroyed by PSCN-charged BRAY.
@jacksonmj(View Post) Yes but zero-life bray exists indefinitely. All saves that have it have had it replaced by diamond, that has broken several of my saves that require it to be destroyable.
