"Finally, the troop carrier arrives and we board. We looked pretty odd in the crowd of camuflaged, dark-dressed men with our shiny suits. We were about 2 kilometres from the objective when the Harridans began bombarding us with flak. The whole room were in was pitch black, the only light in it was the orange light coming from my interface, since I was busy having a game of solitaire. Suddently the darkness was engulfed by a 1 second long blast of light before being showered with bright orange light, coming from a fire in a hole in the wall to the right. I look around and notice that one of the many artillery shots struck the right wing, not destroying it, but severely demaging it. Using whatever tools I had on hand, I tried to make some make-shift patching on it, and it worked, but the ship was still going down.

I look around, the ship has too much weight. After some quick calculations, I decided that if me and Kiliari would jump out (since our suits were so heavy they carried that ship down) not only would the carrier go up, it would go faster. I didn't really care, since I had that modified jet-pack that allowed me to fly, but Kiliari's hook-launchers couldn't really help alot. We come up with an idea, it was crazy, but it might just work. Kiliari took the rope from the hook launcher and tied it around my waist while I was flying, so he would stay hanged on me while flying. We jump out and the ropes held, keeping Kilari neatly hanged, away from certain death. We flied next to the ship, until it came under heavy fire so we I had to accelerate.

Everything went smoothly, until a lucky sniper somewhere on the ground started shooting at us. I tried to swirve around to dodge him and miss a few of his shots, but since Kiliari kept swinging around, one of the shots hit the cable tied around my waist and plunged Kiliari into free-fall. His reflexes were quick enough to shoot another hook towards me, that thankfully didn't penetrate me in the chest, but it embeded itself into my right wing (oh the irony) and forced us to land onto the roof of a nearby building. The wing was totally wrecked and it couldn't retract, so now I have to wear those on my back while fighting."

(If our suits are going to be the same, where's the originality? If I give you something that can fly, you'll just try to make it better than mine, and that's no fun. Both suits have their pros and cons, and I think they're well balanced depending on the strategy that we're taking. Yours has los of firepower, mine lots of mobility)

"What are you doing? asks Kiliari.

Hm? What do ya mean? I ask back.

Why is your interface glowing?

I look around me and notice that my visors were emanating orange light everywhere.
I'm trying to patch into the Harridan relay centre to read some frequencies. They might hold some useful information. I tell him.

Well, do what you do. I'll go scout the area a bit. said Kilari, before hooking onto the roof of a building and swinging around the streets, surveying the landscape.

I finally hack into the centre's main system and began decoding frequencies. Most of them were warnings, conversations or just 'cursed bullsh*t' as I like to call the supposedly 'cursed letters'. After some faffing about, I get sent a detailed map of the city from a security drone flying around after I hacked it. After copying the map on the mini-computer in my visors, I take control of the drone and fly it straight into a sniper-tower, giving the guy inside a very bad day.

I straighten out the wing until it is able to finally retract back and allow me to fly straight(-ish). I find Kiliari a few streets away looking around. I infrom him that I got the map and we drop down on the ground. We bearly heard ourselves through all the sounds of explosions, gunfire and yelling of other men, so I just ended up showing him a hologram of the map. We plan out a strategy to unite with the rest of the attack force. It seems that they were north of us, so that's where we head.

On our way, to avoid baddies, Kiliari goes around jumping from building-to-building using his hook launchers and I use my stealth cloak to sneak past any patrols. We get a few hundread meters away from the attack force until one lucky scout drone noticed us and sounded the alarm. SHIT.

I take out my light-beam (the sword) and the plasma rifle while Kiliari took position on the roof to cover me. A truck swirves around an intersection so hard it nearly flips over and from it at least 30 men get out. They spread out, so Kiliari's rockets couldn't really do much. We pull out our rifles and begin raining bullet Hell on the advancing enemy horde. Right as we were about to make he last kill and call it a day, out of an alleyway next to us, another wave came in. While they were grouped up trying to get out of the alley, Kiliari fired a missile and took out a fair chunk of them.

I pull out the light-beam and plunge into the crowd of men, throwing my arms around slicing up everything. That's when I notice a group of 3 standing out, on their uniforms was written 'ROYAL GUARD'. They pull out their own swords and lunge at me.

I dodge the first one and look at the second. He was thrusting (that's the term) towards me.

Parry. (another term used in fencing)

I block his attack and begin to focus on the 3rd guy. I swirve my sword around and send the 2nd guy's sword flying in the air, forcing him to back out, lose focus and allow me to land a blow around his waist, knocking him to the ground. The 3rd guy lunged and I just thrust ny sword towards him, puncturing the chest and killing him. Now to deal with the 1st guy.

Cut.

Parry.

Displacement.

Shit.

My blade goes flying off and I begin to think this is the end. Until the guy's head explodes into a red colour blast and sprays me with even more gore.

Good shot, Kiliari. I yell at him, before noticing that he downed all the other enemies while I was busy fencing with the royal guards.

Quit showing off and let's go, they group is only a few hundred metres away."
