> This is a thing like O2 and H2 reaction though, some people choose to build machines that separate water apart to make the composite elements first for fun.
The kicker is that reaction isn't the only way to make water, oxygen or hydrogen. Had it been that way, I am sure people would have wanted ways to make it more useful as well. "Just because I can" creations are fun, but they shouldn't get in the way of other creations.
Really, if the argument is "it wouldn't be fun", then it should be up to the players, and not a single user, to decide. And thus far, the response to this suggestion in very positive. There hasn't been that many comments or votes, but those that have been made has been made in favor of it.
So far, you are the only user who has complained. (if you don't count the guy who later said the suggestion was amazing, but just wanted the copying to be on by deafult)
...This is the most catelite I have seen in one place...
People love to make small uselestt machines, tho.
*I also noticed elec "wipes" cloning exots properties and resets it to original properties.
this could be used to keep the cloning portion in one area...
Ehh, this would work sort of, but most of the tricky part of cloning with EXOT is that the life value has to spread through the liquid evenly, or when you pour it, you end up with particles of EXOT leftover that don't copy at all.
How many people have you seen complaining because of the fact that PLUT goes critical on a hair's width, which makes reactors that function noticably in less than a few hours without exploding incredibly difficult? :P
I don't really understand what property of plutonium you are refering to, but I still don't peoples reactions to other elements is really relevant. I think peoples reactions to this suggestion is more important.
Not really sure what else to tell you. I'm only commenting because I wrote all the code for EXOT. XD
Like I said before anyway, if someone can be bothered to fix EXOT so that it uses floodfill code for copying it'd probably be better anyway, but I can't really see an instant transition happening between normal and copying modes.
On the side, it would probably be better if the pulsating intensity mode stayed put as EXOT element's default color scheme. Otherwise, neon lights and similar have to be contained in exact 2px thick diamond or equivilent utility element.
Like this :D

Yeah, I don't think we are going to reach an agreement on this either. I just don't think there's any reason to make things hard to use just to see if people can find clever ways to work around it. Better to make things easy and see what clever new things they can come up with.
Still, it's been an interesting discussion. See you around. :)
that's not what I ment:
Reaction with Elec state- blinking
Copying state- Sparkles
That's what I ment, I didn't mean make the copy state of the element activated at draw...
@nmd (View Post) Ah, I misunderstood then. Sorry :)
It's alright, and, like i mentioned before, your idea is very good :)
