To be honest, no. I did try to reproduce the bug on my system but I couldn't. The code is same for everyone and it updates just fine on win11 for other users now.
One thing you can try is, create a new folder called test on desktop, add a powder.pref file to it so that the mod actually uses it and not accidentally be changing files somewhere else. Paste the mod executable in it.
Launch the mod and see if it creates a folder called scripts in it to confirm that it's actually recognising the powder.pref file. If you see the scripts folder in it then try force updating the mod by using the force update option from control centre.
Also, you could try renaming the mod to something else like crack.exe or something. There might be other powder.exe in your previous directory that could also cause the issue. If doing everything mentioned above still doesn't solve the issue then I might need to look deeper into it but first I want you to follow the steps and report what happens.
it seems to work when I put it there, even if I dont add a powder.pref file, do you know if it works with spaces in folder names/being put on a different drive?
The renaming behaviour is inconsistent among different OSes.
Might be because of that. If it works without adding a powder.pref file then it is awful, lol.
But yeah for now just don't the use same directory that you were using when it didn't work. I will look into the issue later on to see if there's something I can do to avoid it in future.
I discovered that it is most likely drive related because when I copy the whole "D:/the powder toy" folder to the C: drive then it works correctly
ok so basically i just downloaded the new update, then i launch the mod and it works fine. only issue is after a while, i notice its icon change to a default .exe icon, the buttons on the cr menu slowly stop working and the mod closes itself and changes its icon to that of a basic file, then when i try to open it, i get a message saying it was deleted. help lol
Could be it. There are so many factors that could cause it.
Cr-menu buttons not working could be because of the issue with current release that requires a mod reset to work properly.
I have fixed it for next release but I am just waiting for someone to finish an element that's being worked upon.
Missing icon could be a sign of antivirus/ defender trying to block/ delete it. Make sure you add the mod to the list of exclusions and not change the directory too much after it.
can't turn off relative heat, kind of annoying
Do you guys even read the mod message?
Use the reset option from mod and it will work fine.
I am trying to find elements that can destroy WALL( yes I keep doing this xd), and I got some results.
Except DEST that you fixed (thanks), there is also AMTR.
I will help finding bugs if it seems good for you.
reset option doesn't help either
