i know. i entered the wrong date by mistake when generating the countdown timer. fixed now.

it said 'countdown to 2012' and i thought it had, by default, the doomsday date pre-entered. stupid me. lol -

agree. you know what wiped out the dinosaurs? that could come at any time, without warning
it was a meteor (or comet, get confused between the different space rocks) that was big enough to send a shockwave through (and around) the planet and killed the dinosaurs. here's a dosumentary for to watch: super comet (below)
