Powered Portals

    Hello everbody,

So there is this new trend going on, where you can set the ctype of portals so they only accept a certain element. Well, if you're like me, I know how to use the console to do this, but don't always want to do that, so what if there were powered portals.

My idea is to add two elements to Powder Toy:

    Powered Portal In (PWTI)

    Powered Portal Out (PWTO)

When PWTI, Powered Portal In, would recieve a spark from PSCN, it would activate, and particles could enter. Then, when PWTO, Powered Portal Out, recieved a spark from PSCN, the same particles would exit. Of course, when both recieve a spark from NSCN, they would be deactivated.

These two elements would be located under the Powered Materials.

When PWTI wasn't activated, it would be a dark red color, similar to that of VOID, then when it was powered up, it would change to the color of PRTI. When PWTO wasn't activated, it would be a dark blue color, similar to that of PUMP, and when it was activated it would be the same color as PRTO.

This would also allow greener users of Powder Toy to start understanding Powered Materials. This would also allow for the use of WIFI channels to activate/deactivate portals, rather than using the large and blocky E-Wall.

Thank you for reading my post.

I would greatly appreciate feedback from all.

How would this make people get powered materials? It'd be wiser to use LCRY as a teaching platform for it's simpler than portals.
Also, you can use E-wall with WIFI as well..?

I can see its uses, but it could be done with making STOR a bit different, for use in other projects.

I know you can use E-Wall with WIFI, but it is always 4x4, this could be 1x1, and be much smaller, and it would also eliminate needing to use E-Wall in one of my saves: 911696

The next version will have powered pipe (PPIP). both PIPE and PPIP will also pass into PRTI now, so it can be used exactly like powered portals. Also, if powered portals were going to be made, I think PPTI and PPTO would make more sense (that's what I have in my mod)

@jacob1, PPIP would be cool cool now, but i don't think you all are understanding my idea. i don't want to have to use blocky pipe! i just want to be able to have micro machines, and i'm sure several others want to make machines the smallest they can to implement them into other saves to improve them.

PPIP wasn't actually created because of this, I was just saying it could be used like this. It would require an extra few pixels though, but it could still be made compact. You only really need one pixel of pipe, and could delete the surrounding BRCK.

hey guys i reckon powered portals is an awesome idea i also reckon they should remove the portal particle affects

because it can get really annoying and makes things look less cool!great idea id like to see the powered portals idea be introduced into future versions
