I believe TIMC in cracker1000's mod can help.

We already have RSST/RSSS for that; it doesn't make sense for PSTE to just turn into any element matching it's ctype; it's only meant to turn into rock-based elements, life BRCK or CNCT.  And before you bring up the fact that LAVA and ICE/SNOW freeze and melt into any element to which you set the ctype, nobody freezes or melts them into anything other than the elements into which they naturally freeze or melt, or SING in the case of SNOW(SING).

SNOW(FIRW) tmp=2. When heated beyond 0c, explodes. SNOW(FSEP), when melted, becomes plasma. SNOW(BRAY) disappears when heated.

Hunter1, then how do you make pste which turns into sand?

if PSTE turns into it's ctype, PSTE(SAND) would become SAND.

also why would PSTE turn into SAND??

Exactly; it doesn't make sense for PSTE to turn into SAND or any element other than BRCK, PSTS, or CNCT.  Here's one upvote for understanding what I'm getting at. 1+

But someone could find a useful scenaario where its good to have pste become its ctype, no matter what.

PSTE is only meant to turn into rock-based elements like BRCK or, if my suggested feature is added, CNCT.  It doesn't make sense for PSTE to turn into anything else.  We already have RSST and RSSS for this.  We're getting off topic here, this thread is to discuss the PSTE turning into CNCT, not to discuss PSTE turning into just any element.

Yes that is true, like ICE(SING) or LAVA(SING). We have many other uses where elements like ICE don't turn into an intended element, but are still useful.

RSST solidifies when near PHOT. PSTE solidifies under pressure. These are two different things which suit different areas.

    And to address realism,

It does not make sense for LAVA to turn into a bomb when cooled. Or DEUT to explode with neutrons. Or ISOZ in general. Or a filter that performs the XOR binary operation on passing light. Or a metal that perfectly contains air pressure. Or an insulator that perfectly contains heat. Or TPT in general.

TPT is great because of all this weird stuff!

Obviously tpt not supposed to be 100% realistic, but 75% to 80% realistic.  We have ICE, LAVA, and RSST/RSSS that can turn into any element, clone variants that make any element except other clone variants, CONV that can convert almost any element, gray EXOT that can turn into almost any element it touches, and CRAY/DRAY; we already have a lot of elements that can either create or turn into any element, we don't need any more.  PSTE is earth and water, so it being able to turn into any element, even a completely non-earth one, like say WOOD, is downright ridiculous; so is ICE and LAVA turning into any element, but that's already in tpt.  Again we're getting off topic here, this thread is for discussing PSTE turning into CNCT, by means of mixing it with SAND, not and I repeat not for discussing PSTE turning into just any element.
