    No, you don't need a triangle to make a rainbow. Real rainbows are formed from raindrops, and raindrops are (idealistically) spherical. Yes, prisms are a very common way to make rainbows. However, everybody is making triangular prisms, so it wouldn't be interesting to make another triangle.

    @cremyjr, yes they are striangles! XD. Since they are compressed by their falling, they become half triangle, half spherical! Striangles FTW!!!

    @golden, uhm, a rainbow can come out of any prism.and I don't think raindrops are perfect straingals....

    Where do real-life rainbows come from? Raindrops are spherical.
