Gravity is what holds you to the earth, makes an apple fall, and keeps the planets in orbit. Gravity makes all objects on earth fall at the same speed. So know you wonder why doesnt a fether hit the ground as fast as a rock?well air has wind recictance.

Just something to add: gravity is carried in the form of a particle called a Graviton, which travels at the speed of light. So if someone snatched the Sun from the Solar System, we'd keep orbiting (until the gravitons stopped coming 8 minutes later)

sorry ran out of room lets continue. the feather has more wind recictance then rock so it falls slower to the earth then the rock.Gravity also keeps the planets from flying away from the sun do to inertia (an objects recictance to moving and stopping) without gravity we would go flying into the abise of space and freeze but without inertia we would then fly into the sun and die. This save shows the relation between gravity and inertiaa as celestial objects revolve around the sun.
