    it's still kind of hard to see the problem you were talking about without the piston movng back and forth with things inside ... but anyway, if there are things inside, it can only compress them so much and will stop at some point of compressing, but it should still come back after.

    It already is doing that. It just needs to retract the pistons somehow to clean the print heads then reset.

    to make multiple diodes, make a single pixel of anything on the piston. before you start the construction, place the stuff, then before retracting the piston, delete it. All this can be done with cray(stuff).
