    can u use gel for a separation between the mantle and crust? anyways i wish there was slower heat conduction

    I have tried a few different designs with a molten core. The short of it is that it always works right until the outside of the crust contacts the magma. At that point, the whole core rapidly cools into a solid. It doesn't help that it's very easy to make happen.

    EveryGoodNameIsTaken: lava usually just tries to stay on top of everything so it'll just float up although you may be able to finesse it with gravity or just cheat

    Could you try adding a molten core? Or wouldn't that work at all
