    @runemaster, you said that gold is just shiny metal and diamond is shiny AND transparent rock. In my opinion, the days of "waaa, shinyyyy!" are gone. The real thing is that gold sustains all the currencies in the world and is a very important electronic material and diamond is the hardest thing to be found in nature, so they are both very useful.

    actually bananas401k diamonds arnt produced they require extreme pressures to be produced so "man made" diamonds are not very ideal but are possible if someone was really desparate and also gold isnt that rare

    runemaster, gold and diamonds are valueable mainly because they are rare, and perfect gemstones are easily produced, whereas gold and other precious metals cannot be produced, so if companies is not regulate the diamond supply, diamonds would be worth very little

    By the way, there are certain things that make diamonds valuable, so @Ketchup, you are wrong. Gold is not truly valuable, its just a shiny metal. Diamond on the other hand has about six different factors that develop its worth. For example, Clarity and Color. Jus' Sayin'. Oh, and make a steampunk city.
