    you can't measure distance to a curved surface! the photons will just bounce off and never reach the detector again!

    pkmarci: Ah, you too are confused about the distinction between precise and accurate. The word you're thinking of is precise. Accurate just means it isn't incorrect. Precise means high detail of the result. 10 pixels is a complaint about its precision.

    It's 10 pixel short (assuming distance is a multiple of 10 pixels away)
