    You can factor the polynomial on top and then divide out the factor shown as the denominator: If we factor x^2 - 3x + 4, we would get... HMMMMM 3 +- root 9 - 16 / 2: 3/2 +- root 7i / 2. Ok, this one might not be evenly divible.
