The B variant of the Revanant SAV Sports a High power proton laser in place of its standard cannon. This weapon is better suited for single targets and for shooting down attack aircraft but lacks the area damage of the thermonuclear shells.

There's also the fact that a 125mm Howitzer shell can obliterate a tank while it would take a full clip of 50 cal sniper ammo to get through even 2 inches of tank steel.

That bit was directly relating to the save. In earlier versions, the negative pressure would build up and shatter the quartz.

@DoritosTaco Regardless, a 155mm Nuclear projectile has a blast of around 76 Tons, which can destroy entire armored columns, While a 155mm APFSDS (None have been made, so I am estimating) can penetrate about 1 meter of armor. It's not like comparing C4 to a shaped charge, it's like comparing a M107 Barret to an 152mm Cannon.

And tank platoons are made of both this and the other variant, so one can support the other. Have in mind that it should face targets kilometers away, but it cannot be represented in the save.

why the hell are you talking about melee outside of 40k? and even 40k knows melee tanks is stupid. the answer is simple. speed the lasers up so they generate plasma, like the resonance. and gpmp is resistant to stuff like explosives as well
