a hydrogen bomb ignites using a plutonium/uranium fission reaction, which provides enough energy to cause fusion of deuterium-tritium in the bomb, which can be layered multiple times

haminabowl: look up the definitionn of a thermonuclear bomb before you try and correct people, and thermonuclear is, in fact, a hydrogen bomb

thermonuclear is just nuclear not a hydrogen bomb

The way most thermonuclear bombs (H-Bombs) work, are that they have concentrated high explosives to compress a plutonium bomb (also called a primary). The primary becomes critical, and detonates, resulting in a fission explosion which then provides the heat and energy for nuclear fusion.

Tangle10: we can cause fusion such as for bombs our problem is sustained fusion.

You did it right, Chemical Explosive Sets off Plut Creating the necessary energy to cause fusion. Just like real life +1

Avi_: Nope. Fusion is too beyond our tech right now, they use fission.

I thought that they used hydrogen for fusion?
