Not sure what happened, but the design was modified and finalized into the production T-50. However, the design of the T-50 proved to be too complex and expensive. Production of the tank ended about a year later in 1942 with 69 tanks produced.

Got some info on this tank. Not sure what the event was, but aparrently there was some tank replacement for the T-26 and BT-7. Two prototypes, the T-126 and T-127. These proved not much better than the T-46-5 designed earlier. However, these designs carried on into this as a prototype.

Wait you said HE in the Sabot XD Maybe there could be an innovative shell type in our military that breaks off when close enough to a tank and pens it with the Sabot then the larger chunks of Plastic explosives or explosive packs could hit the tank and have the same effect as HEAT or could destroy engines by exploding down into it
