The amount of comments in the time it is on the front page of the "By Date" section is also taken into account. (just a guess) i find it funny how no one truely knows

to get fp, you need to make a save that gets upvoted while its on the first page of the "By Date" section. BUT if it gets no votes, and it gets to the second page of the "By Date" section, then it will no longer be able to get to fp. (i believe)
