    Also, it doesn't always kill the cell. Sometimes it just takes a small bit of cell membrane with it. These are called budding viruses and an example of this type of virus is herpes. sorry for the nitpicking btw ;)

    Actually, the RNA just stays as RNA, the ribosomes just create proteins for the formation of new viruses. Also, some viruses have DNA as well.
