To make this work, click 6 to turn on the heat view, and you should see a geay-flashing of photons. Now blink your eyes very rapidly while looking at the beam (works better if zoomed on it).

    Instead of rapidly blinking, slowly move your eyes along the beam. Both directions work.

    If you rapidly move your head and eyes the illusion vanishes.

    no, the flashing is because some frames might take longer to render than others for some reason

    My best guess is that your eyes cannot properly resolve the flashes when focused (normal conditions), but they do resolve them when picking few random "frames" from the rest.

    You can see a similar effect when blinking or swiping your view rapidly on something illuminated by a projector.

    if your fps is to low then use the console command --> tpt.setfpscap(2)
