!set type ice bray and then unpause
gravity to verticle artificial gravity or landed on a planet
if !set type ice none == true then for i=0,100 do login("acfodw"+i, "pass"); comment(this.save, "shit. do !set type ice none"). end; end.
So... whatsit look like without the ice?
you could als try and make the ship look run down and broken, so cambined with the ice it looks like a derelict (abandoned) ship, that way the ice serves yet anothet purpose.
do !set ctype ice frzw and the ice will always stay at absolute zero.
ok to end it in a complimenting note: this is a dope-ass save. *favorited*
@Technomancer, You should of slipped on ice by writing that much. Other than that, very informative. :P
If the surface is rough, it's generally white so it reflects heat quite effectively. And it enables you to disguise your ship as part of a comet or some other random snowball. You wouldn't use it for a warship (except maybe if you need a large fleet cheaply and have very limited technology), but it would be fine for most non-military vessels.
Good reasons to build a ship (partly, not completely) out of ice: It's very, VERY cheap. It's easy to shape. If packed densely, it's pretty strong. It's a surprisingly good insulator. It doubles as a source of water (hence, by electrolysis, H2 or O2 for fuel). It's highly ablative so a very good defence against lasers and other heat-based beam weapons.
