I thought that Trump had 63M votes and Clinton had 66M.
@sentinal-5 no, that's not how it works. higher population means more represenitives, which are elected to reflect the views of the people and whose job it is to protect their interests. Popular vote is to influence the represenitives, electoral college determines who gets the big chair.
sentinal-5, the only reason Trump won was the electoral college. The electoral college is where each state gets a set amount of votes based on population. Winning 51% of the vote in Texas, for example, would give the same electoral votes as 100% of the vote in Texas. The main reason Hillary won popular vote was California, which she got almost 2 times as many votes as Trump
tfw u realise u just made a 2016 electoral map in tpt
smart system america. gold star.
So TL;DR trump won because hillary supporters live in cities and their votes count for less than the vote of someone who lives in the middle of nowhere?
You shouldn't be putting this on here, though
why not? I think that many people should be more educated about the election before they get mad about Donald Trump. He won the election legitimately, so people should know and respect that. He is our president, like it or not.
Wow, 1 million more popular votes
Why is this still a thing?
