Maybe this is was discovered, because WOOD is very old element, but i don't know.

its cuz fire burns everything within 2 particles and only burns if there's space (PT_NONE touching), when you turn off air the smoke stays there so the bottom layer can't burn until the smoke goes away

It is actually the fact that the smoke is not flying away in zero gravity, and so it blocks new fire from burning the wood. Simple really.

so i did some experimenting, and in the same conditions SPNG and WAX will do something similar. +1
