4d can either refer to a 4th direction (like 3d having x,y,and z),or something being able to move through time instead of space.
Only to find that hardly anything I just said relates with the convo below. Rip
Too lazy to read comments sooo.. we live in a 4 Dimensional space. Although we can only see 3 dimensions of objects, time is involved in our universe and we can control moments in time; Reason being that you do not have a fixed position, it changes over... time. And you can change your position by moving your muscles.
4D makes my brain turn into ice cream
I didn't say that the argument is stupid, I just don't see the point on almost arguing about what "dimension W" would consist of. Also has anyone heard of that matter that scientists might have found that exists in the 4th dimension as well. Aparently it would be able to move through time.
Well, at least they are making intelligent arguments and not just "ur stoopid 4 thingking that" kinda crap, right? I've learned a bit from the conversation.
When everyone has a comment war over a fictional dimension in some anime. \(b-d)/ y tho +1
Why are you guys arguing .-.
@atomic2385 Well, obviously they're just variables. I was just stating that, as far as terminology goes, t states time, and w states length in the fourth spatial dimension. It is of my opinion that referring to time as a dimension is misleading and confusing, and that it should be named something else. Dimension should mean length, and time is not length. Time can be measured in similar ways, but it is not a dimension, at least as far as I see it.
The third dimension could hypothetically be what we know as time in a two-dimensional space. I've thought of a representation of this where a camera would photograph bacterial growth on a petri dish at regular intervals, and these images would then be converted to thin plastic plates in the shape of the bacterial colony, and they would be stacked. It could be analogous to a line graph, which is basically the same thing but with one less dimension.
