Here is the state of the art defense against every kind of bomb (hopefully). Cheating would count - if using eraser, console for similar reasons and anything that just deletes the gold without any effort like cray.

    Wait. No, I can easly destroy it by pausing, placing bomb right next to the wall, press f, place bomb next to the hole, f , place bomb, f, bomb, f, bomb, and so on. pause plus f is needed because quartz grows extremley fast after it's exposed, you need to destroy it fast. Does using bomb count as cheating?
