    most of the ICBM's i have seen have no boosters and i'm pretty sure the one used in the first contact movie looked a hella lot like a titan II

    @sunny1saturday in the movie in which this ship is featured, the ship is build using a disused ICBM, so having a ICBM shape with ICBM boosters makes a lot of sense.

    @Locutus_Of_Borg Yeah, the speed of something going ftl within any sizable atmosphere would create rediculous amounts of air resistance, effectively tearing the ship apart. The deflector dish can only do so much...
