It would have been the largest super-heavy tank if it was constructed and not cancelled. Landkreuzer was a german tank project that started 1942.

yeah. the turret was from the gneisenau refit project, and it was thought to weigh 600 tons or more, and the hull would be even heavier

Though as much as it has been speculated it most likely would have weighted way more than 1000 tonnes.

besides the point mentioned below there is also the problem that the german army wasnt built for the war of attrition that occured paticulerly on the western front in the air. The Luftwaffe for example had a system where they sent their planes back to germany for repairs, not repair them at captured airfields. as a result they lost aircraft qucikly and replaced them slowly causing the luftwaffe to become completely impotent before allied forces even set foot in europe.

i never said that germany could ever win the war... problem is that hitler had HUGE oil problems and had HUGE under-man power. sure they had tanks and planes but you need crew and fuel to make them run... plus going up against 3 super powers on your own is a very bad idea.. since germany allied with italy and made friends with japan but japan never assisted

Who would win: A huge country that has constructed the heaviest tanks on the planet, and had the most powerful army before the war, OR a hammer and a sickle. (get it?)

@CT im sure germany would try and recycle its tanks and guns. the factories were still around until early 1945. so until 1944 the resources were still good enough to build 12 more battleships which each mounted 3 turrets. they dont need to build the ratte at a tank yard, rather a ship yard. so they wouldve had plenty of resources, plus money wasnt a problem since adolf profiteered off of every country that fell until 1942-43 when he started losing territory
