    If I forcefuly drain the internal "battery" then reconect-it won't turn on until the internal "battery" recharges.

    It has a small SPNGE/GEL battery inside it that pretends to be a capacitor in order to prevent power fluctuations. It runs down in a short time. I installed it because my original UPS was slow to respond to the mnain power outage. I tricky is.
