@TakMashido @jacob1 Fullscreen mode doesnt really affects the FPS, but when fullscreen is enabled window scale factor is still doubling the FPS (while it looks almost the same)
cell-core: not at all a simple thing to do. Last year I planned to do exactly that, but I couldn't get the build tools set up properly. At some point in the future I hope to be able to compile, and then move graphics stuff, and perhaps other things like air, to the GPU. No promises.
hey jacob1 why can,t the game use the gpu to run faster?
if jacob1 is there, why am i not able able to run the text generator by jacobot?
TakMashido: The next version upgrades to sdl2, which moves rescaling to the gpu. So double scale mode won't have as much of an effect on fps anymore. TPT is still mostly single threaded even after the update though.
@TakMashido Yes. For me TPT never used more CPU then 12.5%. I have an 8 core processor, 12.5 * 8 = 100, so it only uses one core. Also window scale factor TRIPLES the FPS if there are no parts in the simulation and all type of simulations (newt.g,amb.h.,h.,air,g) are disabled.
I'm suprised how much window scale factor change fps. ~30 vs ~60. All TPT graphics is ganerated by CPU on same thread as simulation?
@kazitor Thus spake emptiness
@GreninjaWorks I can't say for sure, but it could be some kind of bit-rot. The script didn't work for me some time ago, but with a TPT update AND a fresh start, it works so well now that I'm hacking in my own fonts (leaving the 5x7 with a few improvements). Anyway, try a clean install of TPT and see if it works. Back up all your stuff first!!!!
