    the steam caused the 1000 ton radiation shield to shoot off, then oxygen mixed with hydrogen inside the core which caused the huge explosion. it was NOT nuclear.

    ericwg2007 the steam cause the reaction to prgress faster and when there is extra setam and no cooling water the reacters are know to put out lots of power and the explode.
