    I'll just point out that Americium-241 is almost completely safe due to it being an alpha emitter, the alpha-rays are blocked by a piece of paper and don't travel far in air. Alpha emitters are only dangerous if they somehow get inside your body through inhalation or digestion, so don't eat of sniff any test samples.
