The allied invasion of France. After more than 4 years of German occupation, the tides have brought a formidable foe. But an advancement so great does not come without a cost. Around 2500 soldiers died during the attack.

  I rely on feedback but do not tell me that I am somehow making some lives less valable by honoring others. Memorials are not to degrade other lives. As long as people enjoy these saves, I will continue to make them. It is impossible for me to do one for every event and it is surely impossible for me to make everyone happy. Please consider this.

  It appears that people think I chose events based on importance. This assessment is false. I chose events based on whether I felt confortable in my ability to faithfully pay memorial to them. This isn't to say I have made mistakes however. In my Holocaust save, I had first neglected to count many Soviet deaths. I have since rectified this.

  People seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding as to why I decided to do this. It was NOT because I thought some lives were more valuable than others. It was NOT because I thought some events were more important than others. It was NOT because I demoted to the contributions of some people over others. It was simply because I wanted to pay memorial to events.
