    PUNYPET: There is no documented record that the anyone associated with the Imperial Japanese military ever said that. The source of the quote is largely attributed to Facebook posts without any substantive backing. Not arguing about guns, just correcting error.

    After Pearl Harbor, the leader of Japan was asked why he didn't proceed to take over the rest of America. He said that he didn't because his army would most likely lose just from the fact that all citizens alone are armed. Guns are a great freedom.
