A while ago, I made the first fully destructible fusion reactor. But it was powered by uranium, and I wanted one using pure fusion power. So here we are.
fusion
reactor
rocket
engine
destructible

do this in the console: !set type sprk 0 works like a charm.

Thanks for the tips. should be exactly what I need.

woah interesting design +1

also micro you need more thermal mass than just hydrogen, that way the hydrogen coming in gets heat from the waste gases going out and you can have continuous fusion at ~6000c+
-
If you do the NEUT+ELEC reaction, the resulting HYGN is about the same temp as the original NEUT and ELEC, so this reaction occurring inside produces free hot HYGN which instantly fuses, producing more particles. So this reaction is really something you want for a good fusion reactor.

For every 1 hydrogen input, 11.4 oxygen/CO2 are produced (likely due to the electron+neutron reactions producing extra hydrogen for fusion)

Nice +1

(Btw the way I came across this design, I was looking at a sort of high-rate fusion system like this and trying to make it destructible, eventually I made something with a hot end and a cold end which worked, and then tinkered around until I made this one)

Good luck with your reactor as well :)

> How do you keep the heat efficancy up? The heat transfer back through the system is quite low since the tube going from hydrogen input to the combustion chamber is quite long, the heat exchanger itself is isolated so as long as it's >5000c NBLE fusion happens (which releases much more heat than HYGN fusion), and when the pressure rises, hot oxygen is passed back and transfers heat to the NBLE once it's done fusing, which increases the efficiency further.
