    EllisSlushie: since im currently only using one filt for storage, which is 30 bits, the biggest power of 2 below 30 is 2^4 or 16. i could add more pixels of width if i added more filt particles for the storage, but i may have a little difficulty from having to reconfigure the machine thingy to work for more than 1 filt.
