The issue is that the uranium explodes. I dont know how to solve the gas gate problem though -

the guy dies before you can heat up the uranium; seems like you need to make the pressure a bit stronger. also, after some time, when water starts vaporizing, when it goes thru that "gas" gate, it may turn to DSTW. but you still tried tho
