you need a script cuz DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE TO SET THEM MANUALLY EVERY TIME ? -- if so you can continue without a script

hmm i wonder if ctype could be set using fray too :? if so then how many characters per particle ? could we then *in theory* have a stack of powder in a maschine which circulates it to read different values (maybe using the first 10 bits or so to determine order of the particles )

Not sure why you need a script for setting the FRAY temp. Works just fine using prop tool
