Well.. thinking about it, polarium is radioactive.. and we use it for our Polaris fighter planes... But it still isn't as radioactive as whatever this death sphere is.
Even if we made the thickest, longest-duration polarium shield, our army would still be bombarded with radiation.
Looking at these azure bombs, it is becoming clear that Cairlite could never hold up to these nations, even with tetraoxide and polarium shields.
