This is my attempt at a smoke alarm and sprinkler system. It detects smoke then sprays water onto the cause of the fire in an attempt to control it. still a bit faulty so leave comments about how i can improve it, thanks :)

TheMadGerk: No, radioactive smoke detectors detect particles in the air using a beam of alpha particles, usually emitted from americium. These particles ionise (pull electrons off of) oxygen and nitrogen molecules, which forms a current that is detected by the alarm. Smoke is not ionised by the particles, which means the current will stop and the alarm will be triggered. Smoke alarms don't detect gas, they detect charged particles.

@f247 that's how real smoke alarms work. They use neutrons to detect gas or any substane

if th esprinkler is in contact with an open flame for too long it will shoot fire instead of water.
