Sultana was a wooden, side-paddled steamboat built by the John Litherbury Boatyard for cotton trade on the Mississippi River. On April 27th, 1865 it suffered a boiler explosion while being overloaded with passengers,around 1000 more than intended.DECO ON

If I recall correctly, this vessel exists within the game known as Stormworks: Build and Rescue.

Also aboard, several engineers, and one had reported an issue with a boiler, however it was brushed off. At around 2AM, there was a boiler explosion, which tore a 25-foot hole in the ship. The Sultana was sinking AND on fire. Several had already died from the initial explosion and many more were going to. It was when bodies had floated down river that it was clear a tragedy occured.
