The Romano WE84 was a revolutionary australian sportscar in the mid 80s, the car quickly became an aussie legend after dominating the CAMS-A class through the mid to late 80s, the WE84 was built by Barry Lockk, Wayne Eckersly, and Bap Romano, the driver.

    even with a dissapointing attempt at group-C, the car would conteniue to dominate CAMS-A from 1983 to 1986, where unfortunatly, at amaroo park, the throttle stuck open and the car ended up nearly folded in half into a barrier, breaking both of Baps legs, the car was retired but was rebuilt in 2010 and still apears at events to this day

    The car was initialy designed to race in group-C with porsche 956s and the like but during its first and only WEC race at the 1984 sandown 1000, the car proved too unreliable to compete with the mass produced cars and ended up retiring after 106 laps

    Barry Lock*** and i should add, the car was built on Tyrrell F1 car suspension, the engine was from a Mclaren F1 car, and both Barry and Wayne were Ex F1 engineers
